One Dead, One Injured After Crash on Dodge

Tragedy strikes on Dodge Street as a fatal car accident leaves one person deceased and another injured.

Authorities responded to the scene near 56th Street just after midnight, where they found a mangled vehicle that had struck a tree.

Paramedics pronounced the driver of the car, identified as 25-year-old Michael Johnson, dead at the scene. The passenger, 22-year-old Sarah Williams, was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

According to preliminary reports, the car was traveling at a high rate of speed when it lost control and slammed into the tree.
